Apple Butter Stirrin' Festival
The Village will be decked for the occasion and the dates are set for 3 days of fall foliage and fun! Friday - Sunday. Roscoe Village's Apple Butter Stirrin' recaptures the flavor of an old time harvest celebration. Highlighting this 49 year old festival is the making of homemade apple butter in large copper kettles over crackling wood fires. Over 100 craft and food vendors line the street, displaying a number of handcrafted items and a variety of mouth-watering food choices. Visitors may sample the sweetness of homemade apple butter hand-stirred in a huge kettle over a wood fire and tap their feet to the tune of a variety of outdoor musical performances.
Costumed crafters and interpreters await visitors in the beautifully restored living history buildings. The hands-on activities are a great source of family fun, and participants take home their handmade memories. Visitors may also meet characters in period dress strolling amid the festival and engage them in conversation.
Roscoe Village retail shops offer an array of gifts, including Ohio-made items and Village artisans’ handcrafted products. Come join us for a step back in time.
Smell the fresh apple butter simmering over an open fire as you stroll through the street to the tunes of bluegrass and music from days gone-by.
