About us:
The Cuba Garlic Festival is hosted each year by the Cuba NY Chamber of Commerce, but they didn’t do it alone. It takes an army of volunteers to bring this quality, entertaining, and educational event to Cuba year after year, and the Chamber extends a sincere thank you to those who have worked so diligently to make this a highlight event in Allegany County.
Thank you to Laurie Buzzard who first brought the idea of an annual Garlic Festival to the Chamber. After attending the Saugerties Garlic Festival in 2004, Laurie spent countless hours developing plans for a Cuba Garlic Festival — a plan she then presented to the Cuba Chamber of Commerce. The Board of Directors agreed to give the idea a trial run....and the rest is history!
Thank you to Bonnie Blair who graciously allows the Chamber to hold the annual festival on the beautiful grounds of Empire City Farms. The historic block barn provides a stunning and unique backdrop to the annual event.
Throughout the 13 years of the festival, there have been countless volunteers who have given of their time and talents to make this annual festival a success. But a special thank you is due to those dedicated committee members who enthusiastically jumped on board that first year and continue to serve on the Garlic Festival Committee 13 years later: Pete & Barb Buono, Michele & Paul Conklin, Marlene Doyle, Betty Edwards, Chairperson Lee James, Brien Learn and Eddie Zalar.
